How To Make Bubur Ayam

My friend got sick, so I made porridge for him. Here is the recipe for cooking porridge familiar as "Bubur Ayam" in Indonesia.

1. Rice

2. Chicken

3. Coconut milk powder

4. Beef broth

5. Lemongrass leaf

6. Bay leaves

7. Turmeric

8. Ginger

9. Garlic

10. Shallots/onion

11. Coriander

12. White pepper

13. Peanuts

14. Leeks

15. Soy sauce

16. Salt, sugar, flavorings

17. Chips (kerupuk)

1. Let's proceed the porridge, firstly by boiling the chicken, wait until it produces chicken broth.

2. Dive the chicken broth into 2. The first one for making the porridge, the second one for the yellow soup.

3. To make the porridge, put the rice into the rice cooker, put the chicken broth, coconut milk (mix the coconut milk powder with hot water), beef broth, put more water (the amount should be 2 times larger than usual). Keep mixing it, for some times, check the status, if the porridge is still not formed yet and the water has been almost fully consumed, you should add more water and mix it. This process will spend so much time to form the porridge, so you have to patience by adding more water again and again while keep mixing it. 

4. To make the yellow soup, grind/blend the turmeric, ginger, garlic, shallots/onion, coriander, and white pepper. Fry the seasoning, add lemongrass leaf and bay leaves. After that, put the remaining chicken broth, mix them well, then correct the taste with salt, sugar, and flavorings. To make it tastier, you also can add chicken bone.

5. At final, you can put the topping such as the chicken that has been boiled then chopped, fried peanut, fried onion, leeks, soy sauce, and chips (kerupuk).
