I'M POSSIBLE

Inspired by the last meeting in Sapporo Pioneers Toastmasters Club in February which was talking about motto, here I want to talk more about my motto, I quoted from Audrey Hepburn, "Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE, the word itself says I'M POSSIBLE". I always believe this saying every time I feel down, every time I think that it's impossible to get something, every time I think that I may not succeed and will just end up with failure. It's okay, it's natural to have those bad and negative feeling.

However, if we want to reach something badly, we have to get out, we have to move forward. Try and work hard, harder and harder. If your first try was a failure, do not give up, try again, again and again, until, in the end, you will meet the success. Do not let the failure stop you, just believe that you can do it as long as you try it harder and harder.

Let me give you an example from my own life.

I was always becoming the best student in elementary school, junior high school, until high school. However, it was so difficult to become the best when I entered the best university in Indonesia. My friends of mine in my faculty were coming from the best high school from each district. No wonder, they are smart. I spent 5 years in Faculty of Pharmacy: 4 years for undergraduate study and 1 year for pharmacist program.

In my third years, my grade score was not satisfying, could not be compared with my other friends. However, at that time, I still had a dream to become the best. I studied hard until when I graduated from the undergraduate study, I was ranked 12th. I was satisfied. However, when I looked at my parents, they didn't look happy.

I felt bad, I want to make them happy, so I was determined to do my best in my one-year pharmacist program. I knew it looked impossible, how come I compete with other smarter 11 students. I just kept trying and studying hard, reducing outside activities, until it was paid. In the graduation ceremony, I received a Novell award given by Novell Pharmaceutical Company which rewarded me as I became the best second graduated student from Pharmacist Program, Faculty of Pharmacy, Industry Specialization.

I did it, I proved it to my parents that nothing is IMPOSSIBLE, I'M POSSIBLE to become the best student. What is priceless was when I received the warmest hug from my parents and looked them happy.

Hence, everyone, do not underestimate your dream. You will get it if you work hard and do not give up.

"Dream, and God will embrace your dream" -Andrea Hirata.

Hello new stone!

A little stone is still not coming to the surface
Since no strong wave or hands to pick
The other stones?
Are still in their place

Fishes, crocodiles, weeds,
Worms, snails, eels.
are in one picture now
Hang on the wall

Somehow,
the water brought electricity
All became collected
In a different spot

A little stone met with other stones

Stayed,
Static,
Fine

Too strong, the energy
A little stone was cracked
No tape in the lake

A calling was shouted from the surface
It's okay
while a new stone was thrown into the deep
in the same spot

Cracked,
Not bad.
Wish not too deep

Once again,
for sure,
the little stone will come up on the surface
With or without other stones
.
.
.
.
.
.
Anyway, hello new stone!

How To Make Simple Cookies

I made an appointment with my Japanese friend to teach me how to make the cookies. I asked him to teach me the easiest one, and here is the way:

Ingredient:

For the main dough
1. Sugar
2. Egg (1 egg is enough)
3. Flour
4. Baking Powder
5. Almond powder

For the fillers
1. Cream cheese
2. Honey
3. Chocolate

4. White chocolate

5. Milk

Procedure:

For the main dough
1. Set the oven at 170-degree Celsius.

2. Weigh 60 grams of sugar, put in a bowl, add 1 egg and mix until no more trace of sugar.

mix them well until the texture like the picture below

3. Add oil (around 60 grams) and mix it well again.

4. In a different bowl, weigh 180 grams of flour, add with 20 grams of almond powder and a little amount of baking powder.

5. Filter them.

6. Mix no. 5 with no. 3

mix until the texture is like the picture below

7. Put it in the fridge for 10 minutes.

8. Take it out and make small pieces of a cookies dough.

9. Bake it in the oven that has already been set at 170-degree Celsius. Wait around 10-20 minutes.

10. While waiting, let's prepare the fillers.

For the fillers.
There are 3 fillers: cream cheese, chocolate, and white chocolate
1. Cream cheese: put 50 grams of cream cheese, add with honey, and sugar around 5 ml.

2. Chocolate: chop the chocolate, add with hot milk, mix them well.

If the chocolate can not dissolve well, you can boil it together with the milk on the stove, and if it is not thick enough, you can put it in the fridge for a while.

3. White chocolate: chop the white chocolate, add with hot milk, mix them well.

Final
1. After the main dough is baked well, put it out and put the fillers in between 2 pieces of main cookies.

2. Now, your simple cookies are ready to be served.

How To Make Cheesy Flatbread

In Sapporo, there are limited halal restaurants I can go to. One of my favorite Muslim-friendly restaurants is Indian foods. I like naan and its chicken curry. Sometimes, I wonder how to make it. One day, my friend brought her lunch and showed her flatbread. I saw it and I could see that it looked similar to naan. I asked her how to make it and she showed me a video she watched. You can see it here. Now, from that video, I tried to make it, however, I did some modification by adding cheese in between two layers. Here how I made it:

Ingredients:
1. Flour

2. Yogurt

3. Baking powder

4. Salt

5. Sugar

6. Mozzarella cheese

Procedure:
1. Put the flour in a bowl

2. Add the yogurt

3. Add baking powder

4. Adjust the salt and sugar as you want

5. Mix them all together, if the thickness is not enough, you can add a little amount of water, but do not put so much. You may also still able to adjust the saltiness and sweetness in this step.

6. After it becomes a good dough, prepare the cutting board, put a little amount of flour to make it easy to roll the dough.

7. Put a piece of the dough and roll it into a very flat layer.

8. Prepare the frying pan, heat the oil.

9. Put the flat layer of dough.

10. Put the cheese on its top.

11. Cover it with another layer of dough.

12. Cook it well, now cheesy flatbread is ready to be served.

13. Of course, you can have it with Indian chicken curry, if you are curious about the Indian chicken curry recipe, you can visit this.
